In my years of teaching and coaching, whether in schools or in my practice, the goal has always been the same: to foster a mindset that can face challenges, endure discomfort, and lead with resilience. Whether it’s kids or teenagers, physical activity is just the vehicle. The real growth I aim for is that mental toughness- the ability to embrace life’s obstacles with a smile. They have 2 beautiful children... read more who are sometimes there when one visits. They provide personalized, friendly and knowledgeable service and work hard to satisfy their customer’s nutritional and physical fitness needs (they have a gym onsite) ensuring a high level of quality in their products and services. It is always a pleasant experience to visit their business as they make you feel as if you are an important part of their family.
I have been purchasing some of their healthy nutritional organic food products for over 3 years, as well as some non-food health related items. All are superior in quality. This has notably improved my health and increased my energy level and well-being throughout the day. I rarely feel tired anymore during the mid-afternoon. Their products are carefully researched and sourced from reputable suppliers in North America, Europe and other countries meeting their rigorous organic toxin-free standards.
A most interesting thing is that they grow and produce many of their food items onsite, so they are always fresh. They grow sprouts and microgreens which are exceptionally healthy for the body and harvest them when you arrive to pickup your order. It’s hard to get any fresher than that !
They produce fresh Wheatgrass juice which they freeze in returnable ice-trays, providing this to their customers weekly. I can honestly say that this by itself has significantly improved my health as evidenced by my blood test profile and how I generally feel. I also love their amazing power breakfast cereals. These delicious granola-like cereals are the very best I have ever had and cannot be compared to what you buy at the grocery.
Because Marc is a Naturopath, you can have a comprehensive health assessment. Over 3 years ago I first met him when a kind co-worker told me about him in my quest to find a top-notch Naturopath. To my surprise the appointment lasted over two and a half hours. This is because Marc provides you with carefully researched fact-based information which he has gleaned from medical scientific studies. He then tailors this to your needs. It is rare that you encounter individuals like this who are willing to “go the extra mile” so to speak, and in reality Marc actually goes an “extra few miles”. You will receive a thorough dietary analysis regarding what you and most people regularly eat, outlining the pros and cons of each food type. He likes to be challenged and will dispel certain common diet myths and beliefs, as he is like a walking encyclopaedia.
Even when you pickup your order, if he is available, Marc will often take the time to give you ad hoc health tips and advice, if you ask him a question. This demonstrates his genuine concern for the welfare of his fellow human being as he always strives to educate people and to have them understand the key factors which are impacting their health.
Marc, his wife and his staff are all truth-seekers and I really appreciate their knowledge, intelligence, and selfless help in providing me guidance on nutrition and health matters. It’s too bad I did not know about Markito many years ago, as I believe they have been around for over 20 years. It seems they have grown their business without any advertising at all but only via “word of mouth”. I feel very fortunate to have been introduced to them and to be one of their customers. These fine people operating this unique company are outstanding individuals and provide exceptional products and service, which is why I have given Markito Fitness and Nutrition a 5+ star review rating. Marc is very knowledgeable and his methodology of "food is medicine" aligned with my views. I suffer from colitis, an inflammation of the intestine which many people are suffering from today and which many people ignore. During my first flare up back in January and after being diagnosed with colitis I was given medication from my doctor which I took for 2 weeks to ease the inflammation. And that is what it did. It "tamed it". I was fine until my second flare up in July.
I tried healing myself with nutrition using ChatGPT and other online resources with no success. So I went searching to find another healing method other than being dependent on medication since my doctor claimed that a flare up will come and go and some people may have to be on these meds for life. I didn't want to be dependent on meds and I didn't believe that this was the only solution so I went and decided to go the complete opposite route. I wanted to heal myself with food. Nature's medicine.
Luckily I was referred to Marc from a friend of mine and I was so glad I did. We started talking and he assured me that if I followed his path we can beat this together. I learned so much about wheatgrass, sprouting and micro greens and their health benefits that I incorporate them in my diet every day. Yes there are sacrifices one must take to get to the light at the end of the tunnel. No success comes by easily. But with hard work, dedication and Marc's knowledge and encouragement I was able to heal my flare up in 4 weeks! Without any meds!
Marc's dedication to his clients is unbelievable. You will never get this type of support from a doctor. Marc takes the time to explain in great detail the plan of action. He also takes time to check in, even at night by email and by phone call. He really cares about his clients and i am grateful for it. A service you would never get with a doctor.
I know it's tough to question our doctors who always push medication on us. It's the path that we all accustomed to. I witnessed a miracle.
For the last two years my dad, who turns 90 this year, suffered from random shaking that doctors initially said was caused by blood pressure issues... read more however when his blood
pressure medication was adjusted his pressure stabilized but the shaking continued. Finally, doctors said that we would probably never understand why he’s suffering with this condition, which was unsettling for us to hear!
