Published: October 10th, 2017. Here are a few highlights of my training sessions from this week. The heavy mace is an ancient weapon and an incredibly effective tool for targeting imbalances while improving posture, stability and mobility. These movements are a real challenge for both mind and body.

Thank you. Almost all of the weight of the steel mace is on the globe at the end, and it is this weight distribution that makes working with the mace such a mental as well as physical challenge. It forces people to maintain proper body alignment because if they don’t they get punished for it very quickly. Regardless of how strong you are, and how heavy you are used to lifting at the gym, even a 10lb mace can kick your butt in the beginning. There’s a learning curve but it’s a great tool that I use to help clients improve mobility and proper movement mechanics, which then transfer well to other activities.
