Sprouted Chickpea Salad

Chana Chaat Ingredients:
1 cup chickpeas, dry*
½ red onion, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 small cucumber, diced
1 handful cilantro, chopped

Dressing:
juice of one lemon
1/4 cup olive oil (optional)
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp cumin powder
½ tsp cayenne pepper
2 crushed garlic cloves
black pepper to taste

Preparation:

Garbanzo (Chickpea)
Sprouted Chickpeas

 

*Refer to the user guide that came with your Markito Nutrition kit to sprout the chickpeas for approximately two days.

Once sprouted, you may steam them for 5-7 minutes- steaming is optional but does produce a different taste that some may prefer, especially when first transitioning to a plant-based diet.

Toss all of the ingredients along with the dressing in a large salad bowl.

Makes 2-4  servings.
