Homemade Vitamin Infused Water

It’s summertime folks, this means beautiful warm weather (hopefully) and the need for proper hydration. Water is essential for keeping your body’s systems functioning properly, so make sure you keep a bottle handy at all times. But why not have some fun with it too? As a great example, my client Danielle has been showing up at our facility with some beautiful and flavourful concoctions that are attracting lots of attention. I’ve been photographing her bottles at reception to share with all of you, along with tips on how to recreate them.

Her usual homemade vitamin water includes the following:

  • 1 litre of pure distilled water
  • 1-2 fruits
  • 1-2 vegetables
  • 1-2 roots, herbs, or seeds

Quantities depend on the size of your water bottle or jug.

The first mix she had me try featured cucumber, lime, mint, and a jalapeño pepper for extra spice. The following week she brought me a new bottle with sliced ginger (mashed with the back of wooden spoon to help release its oils), peaches (also slightly mashed and sliced), and a sprig of mint which she twisted to release its essence. The combinations are endless.

Ingredients can include:

Fruits such as apple, peach watermelon, pineapple, citrus (orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit), berries, grapes, kiwi, mango, pomegranate, cucumber, star fruit, persimmon, and more…

Vegetables, roots, and herbs such as celery, basil, parsley, anise, cinnamon, turmeric, and ginger.

For extra nutrition you can add chia seeds. For more sweetness you can add a few drops of stevia.

General Instructions:

Simply chop the ingredients and add them to your water, keep the bottle refrigerated. You can continue refilling the bottle with water for up to 3-4 days before having to discard the ingredients and repeat the process. Please use organic produce so that you can include the skins. Finally, we prefer using glass bottles as shown in these images.

Your beautiful and REAL vitamin water bottles will keep you hydrated while quickly becoming the centre of attention during hot and humid days.

Wishing you all a beautiful summer.
Marc & Christine

    1. Hello Arista,

Distilled water is the safest water to consume and what our clients have enjoyed for up to several decades now.

  1. I was doing this the last few summers. Haven’t started this year yet. Does make you want to drink more, than regular water.

    1. Yes it sure does. I normally drink the same green juices we make for our clients, so I don’t necessarily need to add more water in my day. However, if given the choice between these fun creations versus plain water- without a doubt I would enjoy “vitamin water” – even more so when training during a hot day.

  2. I wasn’t a big water drinker before this but ever since I started the vitamin water I can easily drink over 2 litres of water a day. Quite the benefit for my body!!

    1. Glad to hear you are keeping well hydrated. Your bottles are beautiful, and such a sweet reminder of nature’s gifts.
