Not just an illusion- Younger generation invincible to Covid-19

The news media is suggesting that people under the age of 30 are not vaccinating due to their “illusion of invincibility”.
Yet here are the latest mortality figures from the Quebec government’s website, clearly showing that young people are indeed quite invincible.
Perhaps they would have more confidence in following recommendations if experts and the news media properly represented the evidence.
Rising to the occasion requires trust in leaders. Condescending and judgmental behaviour from the top is not a winning strategy, and will surely not inspire our younger generation.
Let’s stop insulting their intelligence, questioning their sense of responsibility, or doubting their concern for their elders. Experts, politicians and the media can lead by example and start accepting accountability for their own mistakes, as opposed to being so quick to place blame on others.
