Garbanzo beans, also known as chickpeas, have a wonderful nutty flavor and can be sprouted and blended to make a delicious raw hummus; much richer in nutrients than typical hummus made from cooked or canned chickpeas. They can also be used in salads, soups, stir fry, and to make vegan patties along with other bean sprouts and vegetables. But when you don’t have time to prepare a fancy recipe, chickpea sprouts can be eaten on their own as a high protein and fibre snack. An added bonus is that they are very easy to sprout; reaching their nutritional peak in just 2 days.
